We're Eco Friendly

The majority of cotton is farmed in a non-organic way, which is unfortunately bad news for our planet and the people that farm it. Because of the extremely toxic pesticides and insecticides that are used on it, untold damage is being done to the earth’s air, water and soil, not to mention the health of the farmers.
In real terms, for every non-organic t-shirt that is being made 150 grams of insecticides and pesticides (which is about a tea cup full!) is being used to treat it. Isn’t that incredible?!
So at Kite Kids we are taking this issue very seriously and wherever possible we are using a beautiful organic cotton, grown, spun and knitted in Turkey, the largest organic cotton producer in the world.
Dyes and Chemicals
Of course it would be hypocritical to use organic cotton, but then treat it with toxic chemicals and colours. So all of the dyes and the chemicals used to soften and finish the fabric are environmentally friendly too.
All of our fabrics and dyes are manufactured according to Global Organic Textile Standards (www.global-standard.org) and are regulated by the internationally recognised Control Union Certifications (www.controlunion.com/certification)
